What is Elementor?

Elementor is a drag-and-drop, what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) website builder specifically designed for WordPress.

If you want a more in-depth understanding of this topic, check out the FAQ section below:

Question #1: What types of websites can I build with Elementor?

You can build virtually any type of website with Elementor, including:

  • Corporate websites
  • Sales pages
  • E-commerce websites
  • Microsites

It comes with a wide selection of powerful widgets that help simplify the process of building the exact website (or webpage) you want, allowing you to more easily:

  • Build entire webpage sections
  • Add media
  • Set up payment integrations
  • Add ratings and testimonials
  • Set up social media integrations
  • Add a blog
  • And so much more

Elementor also has a massive selection of over 300 professionally made templates for practically any purpose and industry you could think of, so you never actually have to build anything from scratch—unless you want to.

Question #2: What are the benefits of using Elementor?

The biggest benefit of using Elementor is that it allows you to build stunning, feature-rich websites even if you had absolutely no programming knowledge.

As we have seen earlier, Elementor is a 100% drag-and-drop, WYSIWYG website builder, so you can use it to create virtually any type of website you want without writing a single line of code. All you have to do is choose a premade template and customise it to your liking using any of the 90+ templates at your disposal.

Even setting up third-party integrations is easy with Elementor. In just a few clicks you’ll be able to do things such as:

  • Add social icons to your site
  • Connect your Facebook page to your site
  • Connect your Paypal account to your site

First, Elementor allows you to easily add social icons to your site so you can make it easier for people to find you on whatever social media platforms they use.

Second, it also allows you to easily connect your Facebook page to your site, allowing you to effortlessly pull posts—including any reactions and comments they have—directly from your wall and embed it anywhere on your website.

But that is not all you can do with Elementor’s Facebook Embed widget. It also allows you to do things such as:

  • Add like and share buttons on your website to make it easier for people to engage with and share your content
  • Promote your Facebook page anywhere on your website so you can get more followers
  • Feature comments that highlight how awesome your brand is for more social proof

Finally, Elementor also allows you to easily connect your PayPal account to your website, which is perfect if you are looking to build an online store.

Question #3: What are the downsides to using it?

The biggest downside to using elementor is that, while it makes building websites extremely easy, the code it generates is not always bloat-free and SEO friendly.

In addition to this, however, the fact that it makes adding components to a website super easy makes it extremely tempting to add more that is actually necessary, resulting in terrible page load times and a horrible user experience.

At the end of the day, though, if you are looking for a quick and easy way to build an amazing WordPress website—and you make it a point to only add things that your website actually needs—then you would be hard-pressed to find a better alternative to Elementor.

Question #4: How much does it cost?

If you are looking to build simple websites and do not mind a smaller selection of templates and widgets to play with, then you can use Elementor for as long as you want for free.

If you decide later on that you want more features, however, you can upgrade to one of their four plans, which are quite affordable for what you get.

The most affordable one at $49 a year, for example, gives you access to:

  • One pro website
  • Elementor’s drag-and-drop live editor
  • Theme builder
  • 300+ responsive templates
  • 90+ widgets
  • 60+ website kits
  • Premium support
